A pioneer handcart trek experience for youth turning 14 in 2027 through graduating seniors — built to strengthen testimony, build unity, and remember the faith of those who came before us.
This is the 2027 youth theme for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide — chosen to reflect the spirit of the Salt Lake Temple’s open house and rededication in summer 2027. As our Trek families pull their handcarts and walk the trail together, we hope they’ll feel the same joy and gratitude the pioneers felt for the Savior who strengthened them along their journey.

Trek is a multi-day pioneer handcart experience that gives youth the chance to strengthen their testimonies, build unity with one another, and feel gratitude for the sacrifices of the pioneers who came before us. Participants pull handcarts, camp on the trail, and serve alongside their Trek Family as they learn gospel principles like faith, sacrifice, obedience, charity, and perseverance through adversity.
